Pictures from Vermont

I did not take many pictures during our one visit to Vermon, but here are the few I did take.

On the way out of I-95 between Montpelier and Burlington in Vermont. On one side of the road the clouds hangs low over the mountains, on the other side the sky is almost clear blue.
We continued along the highway while the sky was clearing more and more. The two cities between wich we were driving, are also interesting. Montpelier with its only 8,000 inhabitants, is the smallest city that is capital of any U.S. state and Burlington, with its 39,000 inhabitants, is the smallest city, which is the largest city in any state.
The weather got better and better, as seen here, when we stopped at a rest area. The rusty plow in the foreground is part of the decoration, it is not just a left over from a passing farmer :-)
Same applies to the "moose".
Here we are heading south on U.S. Route 7 through western Vermont. Notice the many beautiful flowers along the roadside.
The lake in the background of the picture is Lake Champlain. The hills even further away, on the other side of the lake, are located in New York State. Actually they are the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains.
This small farm might just as well have been in Denmark.
Not far from the New York border on U.S. Route 4 west of Rutland, you will find this little rest area.
And the pretty flowers were just outside the building.
The last we saw of Vermont on that occasion was the man who played with his dog.
