Alone in the fall

In the fall of 2013, I had the opportunity to visit USA once more. On this occasion I was going alone, as none of thne kids could find the time - or money. I have always wanted to see the fall colors oaf the Appalachians, and no it was time. I therefore decided on a trip to western North Carolina, where I could visit The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Blue Ridge Parkway and a few other places. I could also combine it with my interest for Tom Dooley, with nobody elses interests but my own to take into account. One short week was the duration of the trip, and for once it was not thought as a road trip even if I managed to drive a few miles anyway.
